Description :	The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) in association with Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) launched its B. Ed. (Special Education) programme on Sunday through distance mode in the area of hearing impairment, mental retardation and visual impairment. The duration of the programme is two years and the students keen in joining it should have Bachelor's Degree from any University Grants Commission (UGC) recognized University and have a minimum of two years' experience in a special school environment in any disability area after graduation. Preference would also be given by IGNOU to the candidates who would fulfill any one of the following criteria - be a parent of a child with disability, be a person with disability, posses an RCI-recognized diploma in special education, have undergone bridge course of RCI or have completed RCI recognized foundation course. Important Dates Sale of Application Forms-: 1st Aug to 31st Aug, 2009 Last date for submission of filled in form along with attested copies of documents at NCDS -: 31st Aug, 2009 Merit List of the selected candidates (At IGNOU/RCI website/RC/Study Centres)-: 20th Sept, 2009 Submission of Acceptance Form Along with Fees at concerned Regional Centres-: 30th Sept, 2009 Commencement of First counseling session at study centre-: Oct Nov, 2009 To Apply-: The candidates can download the application form from IGNOU website www.ignou.ac.in and enclose a Demand Draft of Rs. 550/- in favour of IGNOU payable at Delhi. All the certificates and documents must be attested by Gazette Officer. Candidate seeking admission for this programme are advised not to pay the programme fees with the filled-in application form.
